Ferromatik Milacron's largest injection molding machine with stack-turning technology has been used to make a 32-cavity mold for 3 component injection molded part. The 32 cavity molds are the largest cube molds ever built, with dimensions of 1,200 mm horizontal and 960 mm vertical and an installation height of 1,600 mm. Manufactured are 3-component deodorant roller injection-molded parts on a K-TEC 450-3K from Ferromatik Milacron, with a distance of 1,000 mm x 1,000 mm between columns.
The project was to find a solution for the production and assembly of a 3-component injection-molded part, to make the production of parts economical and to shorten the assembly process, within a desired cycle time that was clearly specified.
