Zimmer AG, Frankfurt am Main has successfully commissioned a polyester polycondensation plant in Jiangsu Province, China. The plant, with a production capacity of 230,000 tpa of polyester chips, features Zimmer's continuous polycondensation process technology and the use of pure terephthalic acid (PTA) and ethylene glycol (EG) as feedstock. The contract awarded to Zimmer in 2003 covered the supply of technology, engineering as well as key equipment, supervision of erection and start-up of the plant.
