Three contract workers, employed by Zachry Construction Corp., the plant's designated maintenance contractor, were accidentally sprayed with steaming hot water while performing routine maintenance at Chevron Phillips' Cedar Bayou chemical plant in Baytown. Each worker was wearing fire protective clothing when the condensate was released from an ethylene unit. The cause of the accident, wherein no equipment was damaged and no fire was touched off, remains under investigation.
