Dow plans US$200 mln investment in China

Dow's facilities at Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province, where the company invested US$300 mln has now become Dow's major manufacturing site in China and in the Asia Pacific region. Dow plans to invest another US$200 mln for expansion at the same site, that will include two new plants and expansion of existing factory for downstream products including glycol ethers in Zhangjiagang. The three projects are estimated to be operational in 2008. The agreement covers products in three Dow businesses: DOWANOL PM glycol ethers in specialty chemicals, styrene butadiene latex in Dow latex, and STYROFOAM brand insulation in Dow Building Solutions.
