A drop to 2006 levels ahs been seen in state-owned Sinopec Group's ethylene production in 2008. The Group cut output to boost fuel supplies ahead of the Olympic Games and curtailed operations on deteriorating chemical demand. The group has produced 6.35 mln ton of ethylene last year, 5.14% lower than in 2007 and roughly the same as in 2006.
