DuPont's new TiO2 Plant in China

13-May-06
DuPont Titanium Technologies plans to build a new world-class titanium dioxide plant at Dongying, Shandong Province, PRC. DuPont has selected Huatai Group Co., Ltd., to supply liquid chlorine and other products as per a letter of intent signed recently. Huatai will build a chlor-alkali plant adjacent to the DuPont plant site in the Dongying Economic Development Zone, translating into savings on transportation of key raw materials. In addition to chlorine, the facility will supply DuPont with caustic soda, hydrochloric acid and steam. Total investment for the project is estimated at $1 billion. When completed, this will be DuPont's largest single investment outside the United States.
