Idemitsu Kosan has commenced production of its "Xarec" syndiotactic polystyrene (SPS) resin compounds at Perrite, UK. The company's European facility was launched after the commencement of US production in January,
Marketing of products in Europe is being handled by Idemitsu Chemicals Europe, Düsseldorf.
Dow shut its 36,000 tpa "Questra" SPS plant at Schkopau, Germany in mid-2005, leaving Idemitsu as the sole market player.
