Iran is seeking to increase petrochemical product exports by targeting new markets in Africa, Latin America and China. Iran exported 10.320 mln tons of petrochemical products ( including polyethylene, methanol, benzene, ammonia, ethane, sulphur, PVC and propylene) worth over US$6.450 bln in the first three quarters of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2010).
Iran's petrochemical exports to China exceeded US$1.650 bln in the current Iranian year.
Estimates reveal that by March 2011, Iran's export of petrochemical products to China will hit US$2 bln, registering a record.
