A leak of hexamethylenediamine (HMD) from the nylon intermediates plant has occurred at BASF's Sea Sands facility, in Teesside, UK. This has resulted in workers requiring medical attention.BASF said the incident was now under control and had been dealt with by SembCorp Emergency services, BASF personnel and the local emergency services. The cause of the incident has not yet been identified.
