26-Apr-06
South Korea's LG Petrochemical is mulling a US$200 million joint venture with Petrovietnam, near Vietnam's first oil refinery. The plant, planned to have a capacity of 150,000 tpa of polypropylene, is still undergoing a feasibility study. The plant could be operational in 2009, around the same time as the Dung Quat Oil Refinery in the central province of Quang Ngai. Currently, LG Petrochemical operates a 30,000 tons DOP plant in the southern province of Dong Nai.
