Reliance Industries has launched a new polypropylene (PP) line in Jamnagar, Gujarat State- the fourth line with an output of 280,000 tpa. With this, total PP output of RIL will exceed 1.7 million tpa, as follows:
Jamnagar plant has additional capacity of producing 770,000 tpa
Hazira unit produces 430,000 tpa
Indian Petrochemicals Corporation Limited (IPCL) produces 300,000 tpa
Earlier, this line was scheduled to commence production in November However, delays occurred twice due problems in sourcing propylene feedstock.
