German company Linde has been awarded a US$140 million contract by PetroChina International for China's largest ethylene plant in Dushanzi, in the autonomous region of Xinjiang in north-western China. Annual production capacity will be 1 million tons of ethylene and 500,000 tons of propylene and production is slated to commence in H2-2008.
As licensor of the manufacturing process, Linde is responsible for providing the process technology and supplying the key components for the plant.
