Iran’s Arvand Petrochemical Co. has concluded a US$420m agreement with an Irano-Spanish company to set up a petrochemical plant in Bandar Imam to domestically produce ethylene oxide and ethylene glycol. The two companies have undertaken to build the new petrochemical plant in South Iran within a period of 40 months. The plant would be capable of producing 550,000 tons of mono ethylene glycol (MEG), 55,000 tons of diethylene glycol (DEG), 50,000 tons of ethylene oxide as well as 3,700 tons of triethylene glycol (TEG).
