The Empowered Committee of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) is to meet to arrive at a decision to award contracts for the Rs 700-crore LNG project at Dahej in Gujarat. The project is for extraction of ethane (C2), butane (C3) and propane (C3) from LNG and will form the feedstock for the proposed petrochemical plant of ONGC at Dahej.
The bids for the extraction project were invited by ONGC in August 2005, after which a technical evaluation was carried out by consultants to th eproject, UK's Foster Wheeler Kingdom. The consultant reportedly qualified three parties, namely L&T, Linde of Germany and Toyo of Japan.
