A host of resin price increases have been announced for the month of October.
BASF has hiked its Ultramid and Capron nylon 6 resins for fibers and extrusion by 10-12%. Ultramid and Nypel nylon molding resins will rise, starting on Oct 15. BASF is raising Styrolux and Styroclear styrene-butadiene copolymers by 6¢/lb on Oct. 1.
DuPont increased prices on Zytel and Minlon products by 12¢/lb for standard grades and more on specialties, while Zytel HTN high-heat nylon went up 15¢/lb.
DuPont and Ticona will raise other engineering thermoplastics prices on Oct. 15. DuPont's Delrin acetal will go up 7¢/lb, Ticona's Celcon and Hostaform acetals up 12¢. DuPont's Rynite PET, Crastin PBT, and Hytrel copolyester TPE all go up 12¢/lb on standard grades and more on other grades. Ticona's PBT, PET, TP polyester blends, copolyester TPE and long-fiber compounds will rise by 12¢.
Rhodia's nylon 6 and 66 grades rose by 10%
Solutia increased all its nylon molding and extrusion resins by 10%
Basell has hiked prices of polyolefins by 12¢/lb Oct. 1.
