Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd. (HPL) consumes around 1.75 million tpa of naphtha, at an estimated value of Rs 4,000 crore. This comprises a major portion of the input cost of HPL.
The duty on naphtha has been slashed from 10% to 5% in the budget. A reduction in customs duty on naphtha in this year's budget could well prove to be a boon for Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd as a reduction in customs duty would help improve the bottomline of HPL further.
