Qatar keen to develop petrochem ties with India

Oil and gas rich Qatar is keen to strengthen trade and economic ties with India, the world's third fastest growing economy. Qatar wants to boost LNG exports to India and involve Indian firms in oil and gas exploration and setting up of petrochemical, fertilizer and steel plants. Currently, Indian companies import liquefied natural gas (LNG) and crude oil from Qatar and have plans to explore for oil and gas and set up steel plans in the Gulf state.
