Dow Canada's President and Olefins Director, Dr. Ramesh Ramachandran, has been named director of Strategic Planning and Business Analysis for The Dow Chemical Company. Dr. Ramachandran has been the Canadian President for approximately two years.
As President of Dow Canada and Business Director of Olefins for Canada,
his position was aligned to the new business reality of intense competition
for investment and high North American petrochemical feedstock prices.
Favouring enhanced access to the West's natural gas and Natural Gas Liquids,
for the last two years he has aggressively pursued win/win solutions to the
current challenges facing Alberta's petrochemicals industry. In January Ramachandran was awarded a Centennial Medal by the Government of Alberta for his contributions to the Province.
