Slowing demand for ethylene derivatives in Asia has continued Sanyo Petrochemical's run of operating its only steam cracker at 95% for third straight month since August. The global recession and sliding prices of ethylene derivatives has impacted Japanese petrochem maker's decision. Sanyo's steam cracker has the production capacity of 470,000 mtpa for ethylene and 300,000 mtpa for propylene.
