Sasol-Huntsman venture to augment maleic anhydride capacity by Q1-2011

02-Mar-09
Sasol-Huntsman, an equally owned joint venture between South Africa's oil major Sasol and USA's specialty chemicals company Huntsman Corp., has bagged financing to increase its maleic anhydride (MA) production capacity at Moers-based German site from 60,000 tpa to 105,000 tpa by first quarter of 2011. Further, by April 2009 Huntsman has plans to set its wholly-owned 45,000 tons MA plant in Geismar, Louisiana underway. These two capacity additions will augment global production capacity for MA from 139,000 tpa to 207,000 tpa.
