Japanese petrochemical maker Showa Denko had shut its naphtha cracker, its only such unit, at the plant in southern Japan for cleaning on Wednesday. The company has restarted the 653,000 tpa naphtha cracker at its Oita plant after an unplanned five-day shutdown due to technical problems.
The plant is expected to return to normal operation by the end of the day.
