German-based international developer of compounding and bulk-material systems, Coperion Werner & Pfleiderer GmbH & Co. KG has completed execution of its two biggest compounding lines for polyoxymethylene (POM) which are used for the compounding, degassing, stabilizing and pelletizing of the raw POM polymer to a company in eastern China. Each compounding line is rated for production of 4,000 kg/hour. The compounding line for POM is made up of the material feed system, a ZSK MEGAcompounder with a 250 mm diameter screw, a continuous screen changer, a WRG 320 water-cooled die face pelletizer for 2 mm pellets, specially optimized for this application, and an intermediate silo for the dry end product. Also, a gravimetric feed system with several feeders is installed before the MEGACompounder.
