Alpek, ALFA's petrochemical group and fibers Mexico, a Mexican affiliate of INVISTA, have agreed to restructure their 50-50 joint venture that manufactures caprolactam, nylon, spandex Lycra®, nylon fibers in Mexico. Operations will be split in a way that allows each partner to focus and concentrate on those segments where they have the greatest strategic interest. Alpek will have full ownership of the caprolactam operations located in Salamanca, Guanajuato and the nylon polymer plant in Ocotlan, Jalisco. Fibers Mexico will incorporate into its own business the nylon 6 textile fiber, the nylon 6,6 textile fiber and the spandex Lycra® plants located in San Pedro Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon.
