An agreement has been concluded for the transfer of Asahi Kasei Chemicals Corporation (AKCC)'s stake to partner Dow in their equally owned joint venture companies Styron Asia Ltd. (Hong Kong) and SAL Petrochemical (Zhangjiagang) Co., Ltd. (China). Preparations are currently underway at Dow and AKCC for submission of their applications to the Chinese governmental authorities for approval of the share transfer.
SAL-HK was established in 1994, followed by the establishment of SAL-ZJG in 1998 for the production and sale of polystyrene in China.
