In an effort to further its highly durable solutions for builders, BASF Styrenics, a division of BASF Group has extended its Luran® S ASA capstock featuring brilliant color hold to include a new and exciting family of Luran products including Luran® HH-120 and Luran® 378P G7. Luran® HH-120 can be used as an alloying component to increase the heat distortion temperature of PVC for applications such as exterior cladding and profiles for windows and fencing. While, Luran® 378P G7 is an extremely high modulus material that can be easily co-extruded into a vinyl profile to increase stiffness and decrease thermal expansion. According to BASF, the enhanced features of these two products along with Luran® S ASA's proven color-hold, helps manufacturers reduce warranty claims.
As per the company, its Luran® S ASA is characheterised by excellent color-hold and maximum resistance to mold growth and staining usually associated with wood-filled plastic components. BASF's matte finish minimizes "plastic glare", and when combined with streaking technology, authentic wood grains can be achieved. Luran® S ASA easily adheres to PVC-based applications and now with BASF's exclusive Lurabond® technology, the color hold, stain resistance and appearance benefits of Luran S ASA can be achieved over polyethylene and polypropylene based composites as well.
