Bayer MaterialScience's global Polycarbonate (PC) capacity has touched the figure of one million tpa, in line with planned expansion to keep up with an estimated 8% annual growth for polycarbonate in the coming years.
Bayer has completed a EUR 8 mln project to upgrade production facilities for its "Makrolon" polycarbonate at Krefeld-Uerdingen (Germany), wrapping up a three-stage expansion of global output capability to 1 mln tpa. Capacity at the site was expanded by 10%. Capapcity increased by 30,000 tpa to total to 330,000 tpa.
