Borealis is the leading supplier of advanced materials to the power cable industry. A E42m investment in cross linkable polyethylene (XLPE) business at Stenungsund in Sweden is being planned by Borealis, to strengthen its position in the wire and cable insulation sector. Demand for power cable is expected to boom over the next 10 years. The new facility will come into effect H2 of 2007 and will boost the cost competitiveness of the integrated PE chain.
