In a move to reflect the group's growing portfolio, Chevron Philips Chemicals has announced a name change for its' organization Ryton to 'Engineering Polymers'. This change will comprise the company's recognized products sold under the Ryton brands polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) and Xtel PPS alloys that are used for application in automotive, electronic, industrial and appliance industries worldwide.
For thirty years, Ryton has been the worldwide leader in the PPS market and continues to be at the vanguard of developing new high-performance engineering resins and alloys.
Ryton PPS is a lightweight alternative to metal, is easy to mold or extrude, and has minimal moisture absorption and low coefficient of linear thermal expansion. Xtel PPS alloys also offer resistance and stability with the added benefit of elasticity, and its excellent flow in thin walls translates to low flash characteristics and fast cycle times.
