06-May-09
Dow Hyperlast, a global business unit of The Dow Chemical Company recently announced that its two product lines -- DIOPLEX(TM) polymeric plasticizers and REZILUBE(TM) polymer additives - have been acquired by The HallStar Company (USA). DIOPLEX(TM) polymer additives are high molecular weight, long-chain polyesters used in a wide range of applications, including food wrap, self-adhesive and electrical tape, and industrial hoses and tubing. REZILUBE(TM) polymer additives for lubricants provide valuable properties for formulators of biodegradable lubricant base stocks. "This is an exciting opportunity for our company to strengthen our global presence with DIOPLEX(TM) and REZILUBE(TM), two well-established and highly regarded product lines," said John Paro, President and CEO of The HallStar Company. "REZILUBE(TM) and DIOPLEX(TM) are natural additions to our specialty ester technology and manufacturing expertise." According to Dow Hyperlast, the divestment of the two product lines will let the company 'focus on core business of polyurethane systems and Elastomers.'
