Dow introduces Propylene-based polymer for cut sheet thermoforming

26-Jun-06
Dow Chemical Company (Dow) has introduced INSPIRE™ EFP 500, a new performance plastic designed for cut sheet thermoforming. INSPIRE™ EFP 500 is the answer to the problems of formability that have conventionally been a key barrier in the technology for large thermoformed parts, thus broadening the opportunities with new parts and applications for sheet producers, thermoformers and OEMs. INSPIRE EFP 500 provides a number of performance benefits including high melt strength, low temperature toughness, ductility, chemical resistance and excellent fastening capabilities. The polymer can be used alone or with a complementary high gloss cap layer with UV and scratch/mar resistance. The new Performance Polymer contributes to excellent cleaning chemical resistance, lower weight, weatherability, and strong durability and impact resistance.
