Taiwan's Formosa Plastics Group (FPG) has recorded a year-on-year (YOY) decline of 10.1% for combined sales (US$3.29 billion) in month of September and month-on-month decline of 26.34%. The three subsidiaries of FPG- Formosa Plastics Corp (FPC), Nan Ya Plastics Corp and Formosa Chemical & Fibre Corp (FCFC)-have witnessed two digit YOY sales decline for September. Only sole subsidiary to see YOY increase in profits was Formosa Petrochemical Corp (FPCC) with a minimal 0.1% rise in profits. The future outlook also seems bleak amidst plunging oil prices and crippling global financial crisis.
