BASF FINA Petrochemicals Ltd. located in Jefferson County, plans a 6-8 week long maintenance turnaround of its naphtha steam cracker. The plant is expected to resume normal operations by mid-May, after complete maintenance and plant improvements. The company plans to focus on implementing new measures to enhance the reliability of operations, effectively reducing potential for flaring in the future. During the maintenance turnaround, the plant will replace a damaged tower by cutting it in half and replacing it with another tower.
