Naphtha from a new gas-to-liquids plant in Qatar, which produces 9,000 bpd of naphtha (30,000 ton cargo a month) is expected to arrive in Asia by December. The first five shipments from the plant will go to different buyers, though marketer Sasol Chevron has yet to agree a term supply deal for next year.
The naphtha has low sulphur and low aromatic content and so is more suitable for refinery processing into gasoline, rather than for use in petrochemical production.
