By the end of decade, Alberta will see a world-class 800 million pounds polyethylene plant to be built by Nova Chemicals, subject to approval of an associated ethane extraction plant. The project depends on the Alberta government carrying through on promises to liberalize its ethane royalty regime. Aux Sable Canada Ltd's planned ethane plant in Fort Saskatchewan is to supply feedstock for the plant.
