Repsol plans to invest €1 bln in expansion at Sines

Repsol plans to invest €1 bln in an expansion project at its petrochemical complex -Repsol Polimeros at Sines, Portugal. Included in the expansion plan is an increase by 40% in cracker output to 570,000 tpa, construction of new PE and PP plants with 300,000 tpa capacity each. The new PE and PP plants will utilize the ethylene and propylene produced at Sines as feedstock, are scheduled to come onstream in 2011.
