Technip has been awarded by BP Zhuhai Chemical Co Ltd. (a joint venture between BP and the Fu Hua Group), a services contract for the development of a new world-scale PTA (Purified Terephthalic Acid) plant at their site in Guangdong Province, China. The contract covers the management of the development of the new plant to have a capacity of 900,000 tpa and will meet China's growing demand for PTA. This plant will be the first to employ BP's latest technology and is expected to come on stream at the end of 2007.
This contract follows the front end engineering design contract completed by Technip in 2005 for the same plant.
