Titan awards contracts to CTCI for two plants in Johor

Titan Chemicals Corp Bhd has awarded contracts worth RM261 million for the construction of two plants in Pasir Gudang, Johor to CTCI Overseas Corp Ltd and CTCI Malaysia Sdn Bhd for a butadiene extraction plant and a propylene plant (metathesis plant) to expand the company's existing propylene capacity The supply contract with CTCI Overseas includes engineering and procurement, while the construction contract with CTCI Malaysia includes onshore engineering, onshore procurement, construction and pre-commissioning of the new Titan plants. Titan has already secured a five-year term sales agreement with Korea Kumho Petrochemical Co Ltd, and hopes to ship the products to them in the second half of 2007.
