Alcan plans US10 mln initial investment in Indian flexible packaging market

In a bid towards its continuous commitment to investing and growing in emerging markets by anticipating expanding needs in the region, Alcan plans to make an initial investment of US$10 million in the Indian flexible packaging market. Alcan will build and equip a new flexible packaging facility in the BHEL Industrial Park in Haridwar, Northern India to cater to the rapidly growing Indian food and personal care markets. The new site in Haridwar is expected to be operational in the Q4, 2007. This plant marks Alcan presence in 10 countries in Asia with 27 sites, employing 6,500 people.
