ExxonMobil in LDPE licensing agreement with Thai PTT

17-Feb-06
ExxonMobil Chemical Technology Licensing LLC is reported to have signed a licensing agreement with Thailand's PTT Chemical Public Company Limited, (PTT Chem), for production of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) in a 100 KTA autoclave system. This technology will offer PTT a cost-effective way to meet demand for LDPE/EVA. The flexibility of the ExxonMobil LDPE technology will enable PTT to produce an extensive grade slate. The products produced by the ExxonMobil technology can be used in a variety of applications, including film packaging, injection-molded articles, insulation materials, pipe and tubing. PTT Chem, an affiliate of PTT Group and the largest producer of ethylene and propylene monomer in Thailand, also produces HDPE and supports their downstream petrochemical plants with a variety of utilities and logistics facilities.
