Though Mitsui has stopped producing Vinyl Chloride Monomer (VCM) several years ago, it continues to license its technology to 20 chemical majors in 15 countries across the globe.
Mitsui Chemicals and South Korea's LG Chem have signed a license partnership agreement for the use of Mitsui's VCM and EDC technology, giving LG the exclusive rights to sub-license the technology. LG Chem currently uses Mitsui's VCM and EDC technology in concurrence with its own PVC technology.
