Reliance mulls petrochem partnership in Venezuela?

16-Jun-06
India's oil and petrochem major, Reliance, could be interested in partnering with Venezuela's state petrochemicals firm Pequiven, for a project in Paraguaná, Falcón state. Byproducts of the 956,000 bpd CRP refining complex in Paraguaná will provide the feedstock for the project that was earlier deemed too ambitious for Pequiven to take on by itself. Reliance, with its experience in producing petrochemicals from refinery byproducts, seems to be a good partner for the project to manufacture plastics, resins and other petrochemicals from refinery byproducts.
