Total Petrochemicals France has declared "force majeure" on all PE products from its site at Gonfreville in France, caused by an ethylene shortage triggered by a glitch at the sites cracker. PP supplies however, continue to remain normal. The site is currently undergoing restructuring, with an eye to modernising styrenics production by 2011. An upgrade of PE operations also is planned.
